Position Summary

Role Overview: The Catering Captain is responsible for coordinating the schedules of catering staff to ensure timely delivery, service, and cleanup of all events. This role includes preparing and serving food at scheduled functions under the guidance of the Catering Director. The position may also involve driving a vehicle to deliver food and beverages to various locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess workload requirements based on catering orders.
  • Collaborate with event leaders to finalize setup arrangements and address any last-minute changes.
  • Engage with clients and resolve any service-related issues.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of menu items.
  • Guide staff on expectations for catered events.
  • Assist in setting up event spaces according to specifications.
  • Transport and deliver food and supplies to designated areas.
  • Serve food and beverages to attendees.
  • Return leftover food, beverages, and serving equipment to the catering facility.
  • Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures in accordance with HACCP standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all equipment, supplies, and utensils.
  • Follow approved recipes and production standards for food preparation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A valid driver's license may be necessary. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol servers permit as required by state law.
