Job SummaryWe are seeking a Respite Worker to provide intermittent, regular scheduled, temporary care and supervision for clients who reside with family members or care providers in the Menifee area. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide responsible care to support family stability and well-being.
- Work a minimum of two hours at each respite appointment.
- Follow instructions for client care and adhere to UCPIE's policies and procedures.
- Assist clients with daily living tasks, such as feeding, dressing, toileting, bathing, and grooming.
- Use safety precautions at all times when providing care.
- Report suspected incidents of abuse and complete required documentation.
- Maintain certification of CPR and First Aid.
- Adhere to UCPIE's Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety procedures.
- Complete time cards, mileage reports, and other required documentation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and insurance.
- Clear security clearance and eligibility to work in the U.S.A.
This position requires community driving and visiting families in their homes. The employee must be able to lift, pull, push, run, and manipulate adaptive equipment and patients, which requires strength and gross motor coordination.
TravelThis job requires daily travel to clients' homes, with travel not exceeding 40 miles unless approved by the Respite Program Manager.
