Job Title: Respite Caregiver - Palm Desert

United Cerebral Palsy of the Inland Empire (UCPIE) is seeking a compassionate and reliable Respite Caregiver to provide temporary care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in the Palm Desert area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide intermittent, regular scheduled, temporary care and supervision for clients residing with family members or care providers.
  • Work a minimum of two hours at each respite appointment.
  • Follow instructions for the care of clients and siblings as outlined by parent(s)/guardian(s).
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as feeding, dressing, toileting, bathing, grooming, and light meal preparation.
  • Use safety precautions at all times when providing care to clients and siblings.
  • Report suspected incidents of abuse to the Respite Program Manager and complete required documentation.
  • Never leave a client unattended.
  • Maintain certification of CPR and First Aid at all times.
  • Adhere to UCPIE's policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Valid vehicle registration.
  • Valid vehicle insurance.
  • Clear security clearance through the FBI and DOJ.
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S.A.
