United Cerebral Palsy of the Inland Empire (UCPIE) is seeking a compassionate and reliable Respite Caregiver to provide temporary care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in the Palm Desert area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide intermittent, regular scheduled, temporary care and supervision for clients residing with family members or care providers.
- Work a minimum of two hours at each respite appointment.
- Follow instructions for the care of clients and siblings as outlined by parent(s)/guardian(s).
- Assist clients with daily living activities, such as feeding, dressing, toileting, bathing, grooming, and light meal preparation.
- Use safety precautions at all times when providing care to clients and siblings.
- Report suspected incidents of abuse to the Respite Program Manager and complete required documentation.
- Never leave a client unattended.
- Maintain certification of CPR and First Aid at all times.
- Adhere to UCPIE's policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Valid driver's license.
- Valid vehicle registration.
- Valid vehicle insurance.
- Clear security clearance through the FBI and DOJ.
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S.A.
