Job Title: Respite Caregiver

United Cerebral Palsy of The Inland Empire is seeking a compassionate and reliable Respite Caregiver to provide temporary care and supervision for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:

The Respite Caregiver will work with families to provide intermittent care and support, allowing them to maintain stability and independence. This role requires strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to work with individuals with varying needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide temporary care and supervision for individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Work with families to develop care plans and provide support
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as feeding, dressing, and toileting
  • Use safety precautions at all times when providing care
  • Report any incidents or concerns to the Respite Program Manager

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • CPR and First Aid certification

Work Environment:

This role requires community driving and visiting families in their homes. The Respite Caregiver must be able to lift, pull, push, run, and manipulate adaptive equipment and patients, which requires strength and gross motor coordination.

Travel:

This role requires daily travel to clients' homes, with travel not exceeding 40 miles unless approved by the Respite Program Manager.
