About the Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Advanced Practice Provider to lead our transplant team at the University of Virginia's Transplant Center. As a member of our Leadership Council, you will drive quality, safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives across the care continuum.

Our interprofessional transplant team comprises experienced professionals, including registered nurses, transplant coordinators, social workers, physicians, nurse practitioners, nutritionists, neuropsychologists, and pharmacy specialists. We foster a collaborative environment where you can utilize your expertise to make a meaningful impact.

As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will collaborate with a talented team of APP-CNSs to achieve our team CNS Mission and Vision:

  • To improve the health of patients by delivering advanced nursing specialty consultation, enhancing interprofessional teamwork, patient safety, and efficiency in healthcare delivery.
  • Employing advanced systems thinking to drive positive change and improve healthcare outcomes for specialty populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based care practices in collaboration with our interprofessional team.

• Provide high-quality care, treatment, and consultation to patients with complex health concerns, leveraging advanced assessment skills.

• Develop and implement effective treatment plans, educate patients and families, and perform designated procedures as needed.

• Utilize advanced communication skills to foster collaboration among patients, families, and healthcare providers.

• Lead and facilitate coordinated care for individuals and populations, driving improved healthcare outcomes.

• Act as a clinical resource, educating and mentoring nurses and other team members to enhance their practice.

• Foster a culture of mutual respect, open communication, and collaboration to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in adult transplant CNS settings preferred.

• Candidates with Adult Acute/Geriatric or Critical Care CNS specialty certification considered.

• Final determination of hire contingent upon successful credentialing/privileging and acquisition of prescriptive license.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $87,755.20 - $140,400.00 annually, commensurate with experience. This position also comes with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings options, and paid time off.
