Position Overview

The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is actively seeking qualified Registered Nurses to fill multiple vacancies for the role of Clinical Nursing Supervisor at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.

Under the guidance of administrative leadership, the selected candidates will oversee and manage nursing operations during designated shifts, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet patient care needs. Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating nursing activities and providing leadership during assigned shifts.
  • Serving as a clinical resource for nursing staff and patients.
  • Implementing and interpreting hospital policies and procedures.
  • Making recommendations for procedural improvements.
  • Conducting rounds to monitor nursing care quality.
  • Facilitating communication between nursing staff and administration.
  • Arranging for necessary staffing adjustments as required.

Essential Duties
  • Supervises nursing activities on assigned shifts.
  • Acts as a clinical resource for patient care.
  • Represents nursing administration in the absence of higher management.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with state regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications
Licensure and Certification: Candidates must possess and maintain a valid Registered Nurse license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is required.

Experience: A minimum of three years of full-time experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting, including at least one year in a supervisory role.
