Epic Application Specialist

Position Overview:
As an Epic Analyst II, you will play a crucial role in the Detention Center (Inpatient/Outpatient) environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various teams supporting Epic applications such as Orders, ASAP, OpTime, Anesthesia, and the Ambulatory team to comprehend data structures and adhere to best practices.
- Conduct Quality Assurance on new and modified reports while working closely with the Clarity Report team.
- Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to address issues within the production application.
- Engage in testing and workflow validation initiatives.
- Work alongside clinical stakeholders in workgroups to explore opportunities for enhanced system utilization and improvements.
- Handle incoming phone calls and tickets to resolve inquiries from end users and internal staff regarding modules in ccLink and third-party vendors.
- Provide guidance on resolving new features, functionalities, and optimization builds in ccLink.
- Maintain thorough documentation on SharePoint for build changes, workflows, and related materials in ccLink.
- Collaborate with principal trainers to develop training materials, lesson plans, and workflow bulletins related to changes or new builds in ccLink.
- Assist users experiencing difficulties with the ccLink application.
- Create workflow diagrams in partnership with business leaders to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum qualifications outlined in the job specification, the following qualifications are essential for this role:
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Understanding of business operations and workflow experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of processes and procedures within a healthcare setting.
- Functional clinical and application expertise.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks effectively.
- Experience in troubleshooting issues typically escalated from help desk calls.
- Knowledge of nursing and physician inpatient workflows is advantageous.
- Exceptional documentation, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Capability to drive decisions when stakeholders are uncertain of their requirements.
- Must achieve Epic certification within six months of notification by the supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications:
The following skills and experiences are desirable but not mandatory:
- Previous employment with Epic is highly preferred.
- 2014 Certification in Epic Orders is advantageous; proficiency is acceptable.
- Experience with orders transmittal and BPAs is a plus.
- Required experience in building and/or implementing Epic's Orders module.
- Creation and maintenance of SER, EMP, vendor, and place of service records.
- Military experience is a plus; preference for military veterans is given.
