Role Overview:
Licensed Practical Nurse -
The Licensed Practical Nurse, under the guidance of the Practice Manager and/or Clinical Supervisor, delivers nursing care to patients. Responsibilities include:
- Providing patient education and support.
- Assisting physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
- Administering prescribed procedures and treatments as directed by the physician.
- Maintaining medical equipment, medications, and the work environment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Rooming patients for appointments and accurately recording vital signs.
- Preparing patients for physical examinations and screening for relevant information.
- Instructing patients on sample collection and testing procedures.
- Explaining treatments and nursing care to patients and their families prior to implementation.
- Managing appointment scheduling with a focus on triaging urgent cases.
- Utilizing proper injection techniques while maintaining sterile practices.
- Documenting all patient interactions and recommendations accurately.
- Ensuring all prescriptions are reviewed and signed by the physician.
- Posting test results in patient charts and reviewing charts for completeness before physician consultations.
- Assisting with the preparation of medical equipment and supporting the physician during patient care activities.
Qualifications:
The qualifications and experiences necessary for success in this role include:
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent
+ Graduate of an Accredited Practical/Vocational Nursing Program
+ Valid State of Florida Licensed Practical Nurse License
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (a condition of employment)
