Position Overview: Licensed Practical Nurse - Cardiology
The Licensed Practical Nurse, under the guidance of the Practice Manager and/or Clinical Supervisor, delivers nursing care to patients. Responsibilities include assisting in patient education, supporting the physician during examinations and treatments, and administering procedures as directed. The LPN is also responsible for maintaining equipment, medications, and the work environment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Facilitate patient rooming for appointments, ensuring accurate collection of vital signs and documentation.
+ Prepare patients for physical examinations and screen for relevant information.
+ Provide clear explanations of procedures, treatments, and nursing care to patients and their families.
+ Manage appointment scheduling, prioritizing patients in urgent situations.
+ Employ proper injection techniques while maintaining sterile conditions.
+ Document all patient interactions and recommendations accurately.
+ Ensure that all reports are reviewed and signed by the physician.
+ Maintain thorough documentation of test results, noting any abnormalities.
+ Review patient charts to confirm all necessary information is available prior to physician consultations.
+ Assist in preparing equipment and support the physician during patient examinations and treatments.
Qualifications:
Essential Skills and Experience:
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent
+ Graduate from an Accredited Practical/Vocational Nursing Program
+ Current State of Florida Licensed Practical Nurse License
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required for employment)
