Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Balance Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Interview patients to gather medical history and update medical records
- Gather basic vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, height, weight, and pulse
- Prepare treatment rooms and patients for exam
- Sterilize instruments and set up in-office procedure trays
- Manage medical supplies and materials and work with our operational leader to order necessary inventory
- Take x-rays
- Medical Assistants will be cross-trained to be able to cover front desk activities when needed
- Other duties as assigned to support the physician and team with patient care activities
- High school diploma or GED required, higher or continuing education a plus
- Medical Assistant certification with 2 years in a healthcare position preferred
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
- Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a wound
- Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties
- Customer service skills
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures
