Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Balance Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to gather medical history and update medical records
  • Gather basic vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, height, weight, and pulse
  • Prepare treatment rooms and patients for exam
  • Sterilize instruments and set up in-office procedure trays
  • Manage medical supplies and materials and work with our operational leader to order necessary inventory
  • Take x-rays
  • Medical Assistants will be cross-trained to be able to cover front desk activities when needed
  • Other duties as assigned to support the physician and team with patient care activities
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required, higher or continuing education a plus
  • Medical Assistant certification with 2 years in a healthcare position preferred
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
  • Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a wound
  • Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties
  • Customer service skills
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures

Work Environment

This role requires the ability to stand, sit, stoop, crouch, or kneel; use hands; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Must be able to lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
