Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates of Hampton team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our physicians and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
    • Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, and administer injections
    • Collect patient history, perform screening tests, and chart patient information
  • Clerical and Administrative Tasks
    • Obtain lab and mammogram reports, complete forms and requisitions
    • Manage patient flow, answer phone calls, and respond to patient inquiries
    • Maintain accurate records, including patient charts and medical records
  • Infection Control and OSHA Compliance
    • Follow infection control and OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
    • Prepare for procedures, clean exam rooms, and maintain equipment calibration records
  • Quality Improvement and Patient Safety
    • Participate in clinical quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and safety
    • Comply with NCQA, ACOG, and AIUM standards and requirements
  • Organizational and Communication Skills
    • Respect patient confidentiality and maintain a positive image of the practice
    • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Medical assisting certification and experience in OB/GYN preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, electronic medical records systems, and Windows environment
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of organization
