Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate culinary professional to join our team as a Cafeteria Cook. This role will be responsible for the preparation of stations, production of food, and execution of menu items that surpass guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completes daily prep responsibilities, including treating the cafeteria as an outlet and preparing all hot food items according to standard recipes.
  • Follows monthly menu and maintains high standards of food preparation in a timely fashion while performing multi-tasks.
  • Maintains work area in a safe and sanitary manner, reports safety issues, and continuously looks for ways to increase productivity.
  • Handles food and rotates it according to established procedures, including cooking and cooling temperatures, and utilizes proper and safe knife skills.
  • Orders food requisitions with collaboration of Sous Chef according to business and respects and accommodates the food servers' requests regarding guests' personality, preference, and requests.
  • Maintains a full line of communication with supervisors and performs any other tasks as assigned by Sous Chef and assists in any area needed.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written, and must be able to lift up to 30lbs + on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, with a second language desirable.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree, preferably specializing in Culinary Arts, and/or related major or equivalent experience is required. Must have at least one year of related culinary experience, with experience in hospitality preferred.

Work Environment:
