Primary Location:
We are seeking qualified candidates who possess the necessary skills and experience to fulfill the essential functions of this role.

Job Overview:
Oversee the design, development, and upkeep of the telecommunications infrastructure, focusing on cabling systems and network performance related to various technologies including ethernet and fiber optics. Collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with project specifications and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for voice, data, and video networks.
  • Design and manage WAN connectivity hardware and software to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Oversee the implementation of a district-wide UPS backup solution.
  • Coordinate the installation of all communication facilities and equipment.
  • Develop and manage call routing systems for VoIP and related technologies.
  • Complete service requests and update network documentation accordingly.
  • Supervise contractor activities and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to specify and coordinate cabling infrastructure services.
Additional Responsibilities:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of electrical and electronic principles.
  • Familiarity with WAN connectivity solutions.
  • Knowledge of cabling infrastructure fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in CADD principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Competence in relevant software and hardware.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle both copper and fiber cabling.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capacity to build and maintain professional relationships.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
This role involves medium physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and performing various physical activities such as standing, walking, and climbing. The position may require exposure to environmental conditions such as dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures.

Qualifications:
An associate degree from an accredited institution is required, while a bachelor's degree is preferred. A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required, with six years preferred.

Certifications:
Candidates must possess at least one of the following certifications:
  • Panduit Plus Certified
  • Cisco Certified Specialist
  • Data Center Design
  • CompTIA Network+
  • APC Certified Operator
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
