Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Student Success Advisor to join our team at Bethel University. As a key member of our student success team, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success and well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Academic Advising Services: Offer primary academic advising services to students within a specified group of degree programs, and general support for all programs.
  • Support Student Success: Cultivate substantive relationships with students to ensure their continued success and support.
  • Monitor Student Progress: Monitor students to ensure they are prepared to academically succeed.
  • Develop Recognition Programs: Develop and administer personalized means of recognizing student achievement.
  • Connect Students with Resources: Connect at-risk students with Manager and other appropriate staff and provide well-researched recommendations to ensure appropriate support.
  • Verify Academic Records: Verify academic records and ensure students fulfill academic requirements for graduation.
  • Partner with University Departments: Partner with the Registrar's Office to administer academic policy, organize and maintain accurate student records.
  • Implement Retention Strategies: Implement both proactive and reactive strategies to assist or re-engage students as needed, and provide timely interventions and resolution to retention concerns.
  • Compile and Organize Data: Compile and organize data in ERP-based tracking systems to ensure accurate success and retention measures.
  • Support Student Advising Technology: Support Managers and Senior Student Success Advisors in timely identification and reporting of issues and outages pertaining to student advising technology.
Requirements
  • Ability to Multitask: Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Must have the ability to think critically and act independently.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Outstanding customer service skills are required, with experience dealing directly with customers/constituents.
  • Leadership Skills: Requires ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong leadership skills.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge in word processing (preferably Microsoft Word), spreadsheet, and database experience required.
  • Experience: 3+ years of progressively responsible experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
