This role involves supporting the Customer Project Delivery team in achieving the objectives of enhancing energy efficiency and promoting innovative energy solutions.
Project OverviewThe Project Engineer I collaborates with clients to design initiatives that integrate energy-saving measures aimed at decreasing energy usage.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a representative of the organization during client meetings, design discussions, contractor inspections, and client presentations.
- Conduct engineering calculations, prepare estimates, and perform cost analyses for feasibility reports.
- Oversee and execute multiple energy conservation initiatives and new project developments simultaneously.
- Create customer installation commitment documents, including cost recovery agreements that necessitate economic assessments and engineering specifications.
- Monitor and generate status reports for all assigned projects.
- Assess project scope, review feasibility studies, deliver presentations and recommendations, and develop design documents and specifications.
- Evaluate bid results and provide recommendations for contract awards.
- Develop and validate engineering, labor, and material bid specifications provided by team members and implementation contractors.
- Review project activities for technical accuracy, cost management, and scheduling.
- Address issues related to customer savings, design, and construction challenges.
- Compile and verify all financial and billing documentation related to savings calculations supporting cost-effective direct install projects.
- Ensure compliance with all design, code, licensing, and operational maintenance requirements.
- Stay updated on the latest technological advancements, products, and project input parameters.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems along with relevant codes.
- Technical expertise across various engineering disciplines.
- Strong project management capabilities with a proven ability to plan, execute, and finalize multiple projects within budget and on schedule.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Capability to assess existing conditions in facilities and resolve issues related to contracts, equipment design, and operations.
- Ability to evaluate and address environmental concerns as they pertain to client needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of five years of engineering experience.
- Experience in project management.
- Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional Certification (PMPC) or Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or an advanced degree in an engineering, scientific, or business discipline is preferred.
