Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Engine Development Engineer to join our team at ektello. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing subsystem level tests in a world-class testing and development facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test Development and Execution: Develop and execute first-time capable tests for calibration and hardware development evaluation, ensuring that all tests are thoroughly planned and executed to meet project requirements.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Actively report out timeline/results/conclusions/recommendations to the Advanced or Product Development Teams while collaborating with Technical Experts to improve current test methods, design features, and calibration strategies.
  • Problem-Solving and Analysis: Utilize and create post-processing tools to assure data quality and track the usefulness of data in generating final calibration or reports, identifying opportunities for data reduction and improvement.
  • Process Improvement and Standardization: Develop, implement, and update standard work processes and procedures globally, ensuring that all processes are efficient, effective, and aligned with company goals.
  • Training and Development: Train, mentor, and develop new engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their success in their roles.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive engineering with engine system knowledge, with a strong understanding of diesel combustion system component interactions, engine testing, calibration, single-cylinder engine, or hardware development.
  • Skills: Excellent planning and problem-solving skills, high level of oral and written communication skills, high level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others, and ability to prioritize work, resources, and work independently with minimal direction.
  • Education: MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Physics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Software Experience: Experience with AVL PUMA/IndiCom/CAMEO and ETAS INCA software, as well as familiarity with government test cycles (e.g., FTP, US06, WLTP, RDE).
  • Additional Skills: Experience with engine dyno setup and testing, knowledge of propulsion system calibration in test and vehicle environment, and ability to travel as required for offsite testing.
