Job Summary

SCP Health is seeking a skilled Clinical Documentation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our clinical documentation team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of patient documentation, while also driving revenue and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clinicians, compliance, operations, and revenue cycle team members to ensure accurate and complete medical record documentation.
  • Provide education and training to clinicians on current documentation and coding requirements, including CMS guidelines and attestation procedures.
  • Analyze coding and billing data to identify documentation and RVU outliers, and develop targeted education and training programs to address these issues.
  • Travel to territories as required to provide in-person documentation education, oversight, feedback, and training.
  • Participate in clinician Electronic Medical Record (EMR) training and provide feedback and clarification on documentation and coding concepts.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 4+ years of job-specific experience in a hospital or physician practice environment.
  • Experience with Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Urgent Care documentation and coding guidelines preferred.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
