Position Overview:
The Principal Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing and executing essential accounting transactions and functions within the Corporate Accounting department. This includes managing general ledger activities, inter-company transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and financial reporting, all in accordance with established accounting standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and prepare comprehensive monthly financial package schedules.
- Conduct reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage fixed assets accounting, including identifying and recording asset costs, calculating depreciation, and assessing potential obsolescence.
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries, ensuring proper posting of expenses and revenues to generate accurate financial statements.
- Review and reconcile payroll data, bank statements, and outstanding checks, taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide accounting support and information systems assistance to management and practices.
- Generate monthly and ad hoc reports and analyses to support decision-making.
- Assist in compiling data for internal and external audits, as well as for capital and operating budgets.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proficient understanding of general accounting principles and practices, particularly in areas such as General Ledger, Budgeting, and Financial Reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with analytical and numerical proficiency.
- A minimum of five to eight years of experience in corporate accounting, particularly in major accounting functions.
- Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
