Position Overview:

The role of an Analytical Chemist focuses on the specialization in Wet Chemistry. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Analytical Characterization team within the research and development division of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of small organic compounds, additives, degradation products, and impurities in complex polymer matrices.
  • Perform various wet chemistry tests, including loss on drying (LOD), water content tests, and chromatography.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for sample preparation and data analysis.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments effectively.
  • Execute moisture testing in accordance with established methods and procedures.
  • Engage in test method development under guidance.
  • Carry out stability testing as per SOP guidelines.
  • Focus on meticulous sample preparation, data collection, and accurate data reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze a moderate to high volume of samples within designated turnaround times.
  • Document any unexpected observations and communicate them to the lab supervisor or relevant subject matter experts.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and lab notebooks in compliance with company protocols.
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance records for laboratory instruments are up to date.
  • Perform data entry using spreadsheet or laboratory information management software as required.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports with precise interpretations of analytical data.
  • Assist with additional laboratory tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry is required.
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Experience in an Analytical Characterization environment is essential.
  • Familiarity with medical devices is advantageous.
  • Experience in a GMP/GLP setting is a plus.
  • Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques, including handling organic solvents, is required.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with team members.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize workflow independently.
  • Familiarity with HPLC and UPLC is considered a plus.
