Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at Alliance Animal Health. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our veterinarians and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including animal restraint, triage, and diagnostic imaging
  • Collect and analyze lab samples, and manage and nurse medical and hospitalized cases
  • Administer medications, communicate treatment plans with clients, and provide exceptional customer service
  • Participate in surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in veterinary technology or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in ICU/24-hour nursing care facility required; CVT/RVT/LVT certification a plus
  • Ability to work 7 nights on, 7 nights off, with weekend availability
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
  • Knowledge of preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • Proficient in sample collection, laboratory sample processing, and radiography
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude
Working Conditions
  • Ability to sit or stand and work at a computer for long periods of time
  • Ability to be confident around animals, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and other species
  • Occasional exposure to unpleasant odors and noises, as well as potential bites, scratches, and contagious diseases
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds, with good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity
