About the Role

At Raytheon, we are seeking a highly skilled Principal System Security Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Software Security Sensors and Effectors Department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating security software for deployed missile systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop real-time security-oriented software solutions for Department of Defense (DoD) programs
  • Apply System Security principles to the design and implementation of hardened Missile software applications
  • Develop software applications using C and C++ languages on a variety of computing platforms
  • Understand real-time software design and the performance implications associated with specific System Security implementations
  • Develop Test, Automation, and Build software for embedded software, typically in Python
  • Obtain and maintain a clearance at the Top-Secret level
Requirements
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math or related engineering/science discipline and 8+ years of experience
  • Experience with Xilinx IDEs (SDK/Vitis, Vivado)
  • Experience with Xilinx Zynq MPSoCs, UltraScale+, or similar Embedded Processors
  • Experience with VxWorks 7 or similar Embedded Operating Systems
  • Experience with C or C++
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing, implementing, testing, integrating or fielding real-time security-oriented solutions on Department of Defense (DoD) programs (embedded experience highly preferred)
  • Experience in developing Embedded Security Software
  • Experience with Systems/Software Security Concepts
  • Experience in Agile and DevSecOps environments
  • Experience in an Agile/Scrum/Kanban frameworks and development environments
  • Experience using software configuration management and bug tracking tools
  • Experience with Python / Perl
  • Knowledge of modern computer architectures and hardware technologies including: x86 architectures, PCIe, GPIO, I2C, SATA, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs)
