Our Pediatric Nurse Practitioners collaborate closely with flight nurses and paramedics to deliver exceptional critical care to pediatric patients, utilizing various transport modalities including fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and ground ambulances. Operating across multiple states, our transport team faces unique challenges that require advanced critical thinking and adaptability.

As a well-established healthcare institution with a rich history, we pride ourselves on providing outstanding care to children, supported by our accredited transport team consisting of NPs, Flight Nurses, Critical Care Paramedics, and Emergency Medical Technicians. We are equipped with advanced transport vehicles, including ground ambulances and dedicated air assets.

The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in this role will oversee the care and transport of pediatric patients from referring facilities. This position demands expertise in flight and ambulance care protocols, altitude physiology, and emergency response procedures. Utilizing a comprehensive nursing approach, the practitioner will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while maintaining accurate documentation of patient outcomes.

This role requires a deep understanding of pediatric pathophysiology, assessment capabilities, and critical care decision-making skills. Proficiency in interpreting lab and radiology results, along with performing essential procedures such as intubation and line placements, is crucial. The practitioner will work in tandem with physicians and referral teams, demonstrating strong leadership through sound nursing judgment and problem-solving skills. Advocacy for patients and families is essential, alongside maintaining professional conduct and effective communication.

Qualifications
  • Must possess the necessary education and licensure as mandated by regulatory authorities.
  • A minimum of 3 years of critical care experience is required.
  • Experience in pediatric advanced practice is preferred.
