Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Omaha Children's Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our young patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients based on established protocols and the nursing process.
  • Coordinate with team members to provide a team-based approach to care.
  • Perform treatments, procedures, and medication administration in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Assess physical, mental, emotional, developmental, and social conditions of patients and families.
  • Coordinate scheduling of diagnostic tests and procedures with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
  • Provide patient and family education and document care in the electronic medical record.
  • Respond to crisis situations and life-threatening emergencies.
  • Direct other team members in the delivery of nursing care as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience.
  • Previous pediatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the state of Nebraska required.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association required.
  • PEARS - Peds Emergency Assessment within 180 Days required or PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support if incumbent holds another position within Children's where PALS is required.
