Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Children's Hospital & Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and education to families in our pediatric clinics.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients and families in our pediatric clinics, adhering to established patient care protocols and the nursing process.
  • Coordinate with team members to provide a team-based approach to care, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Perform treatments, procedures, and medication/immunization administration in a professional and compassionate manner, following Children's Physicians policy and procedures.
  • Conduct accurate assessments of physical, mental, emotional, developmental, and social conditions, interviewing patients and families in the office and on the telephone.
  • Coordinate, provide, and document patient and family education, ensuring accurate and timely completion of required patient care documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Respond appropriately in crisis situations or life-threatening emergencies, directing other team members in the delivery of nursing care as needed.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills when performing phone triage, promoting and encouraging the use of Children's Connect for online communication with parents.
  • Take ownership of quality metrics, working quality reports as directed and utilizing established workflows to continuously improve patient care.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in nursing preferred.
  • Previous pediatric nursing experience and experience with EPIC are preferred.
Requirements
  • Current and valid licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
  • Ability to travel to other Children's Physician clinics as needed.
  • Excellent clinical skills, with intermediate to advanced computer skills.
