Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to identify and prioritize critical reliability enhancement initiatives.
- Lead projects that deliver engineered solutions to intricate challenges, thereby improving equipment and process reliability.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to address systemic reliability and maintainability concerns, aiming to reduce costs and boost productivity.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on various rotating equipment and turbomachinery.
- Support plant outages and shutdowns as needed.
- Utilize data from SAP and other reliability systems to identify and prioritize opportunities for reliability improvements.
- Conduct and manage Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations.
- Oversee Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on critical production assets.
- Provide reliability insights for capital projects as required.
- Offer technical leadership across all levels of the plant organization.
- Mentor junior reliability engineers to foster their professional growth.
- Promote a culture of safety and adhere to the Eastman safety vision.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is mandatory, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering.
- Over 10 years of experience in reliability engineering, particularly within chemical or petrochemical environments.
- Strong foundational engineering and reliability engineering skills, with a keen interest in advanced reliability principles.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies.
- Proficient in managing preventive and predictive maintenance plans using asset management software, preferably SAP.
- In-depth knowledge of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and motors.
- Familiarity with predictive and diagnostic technologies for rotating equipment.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and capable of managing a diverse project portfolio.
- Willingness to engage in fieldwork alongside mechanics and operators for urgent equipment troubleshooting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong group facilitation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- A commitment to personnel and process safety.
