Job Overview

Argo Cyber Systems is seeking a skilled Cyber Security Incident Responder to assist our clients in identifying, addressing, and reporting cyber threats impacting their networks. This role involves shift work, including nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the identification, response, mitigation, and documentation of cyber threats impacting client networks.
  • Stay informed about current vulnerabilities and the strategies employed in cyber security operations.
  • Generate reports and briefs that accurately reflect the current threat landscape and associated risks.
  • Utilize customer, community, and open-source reporting to achieve this.
  • Analyze correlated information sources for comprehensive insights.
  • Assist clients in proactively investigating cyber activities targeting their information and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the training department to educate staff on cyber threats.
  • Engage with other governmental cyber threat analysis entities, including intra-agency and inter-agency Cyber Threat Working Groups.
  • Maintain proficiency in creating visualization charts, link analysis diagrams, and executing database queries.
  • Analyze and report on cyber threats while aiding in the identification, monitoring, and investigation of computer network intrusions.
  • Additional responsibilities may include providing support for high-tech investigations, including computer evidence seizure, forensic analysis, data recovery, and network assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-required Information Assurance training.
Clearance Requirements
  • Must possess an active/current Top Secret clearance with the capability to obtain a TS/SCI.
  • Must be eligible to receive DHS suitability prior to employment commencement.
Required Skills
  • Hands-on experience in detecting, responding to, mitigating, and reporting cyber threats impacting client networks, including:
    • Computer intrusion analysis and incident response.
    • Intrusion detection methodologies.
    • Network surveillance and monitoring.
    • Understanding of network protocols, devices, various operating systems, and secure architectures.
    • Experience in computer evidence seizure, forensic analysis, and data recovery.
    • System log analysis and network forensics.
    • Familiarity with current cyber threats and the tactics, techniques, and procedures used to compromise networks.
    • Current experience with network intrusion detection and response operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to document processes effectively.
  • Capability to respond to crises with objectivity.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and ability to collaborate across agencies and locations.
Desired Skills
  • Experience supporting DHS, Federal Civil, Intelligence, and/or DoD clients.
  • Knowledge in computer forensics.
  • Experience in malware reverse engineering.
  • Familiarity with risk and opportunity management.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.).
  • Experience in process development and implementation.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Prior experience with data visualization tools, such as Analyst Notebook.
  • Experience with Splunk.
  • Prior work in a Security Operations Center (SOC/NOSC) or Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT/CIRT) is highly desired.
Desired Certifications
  • Technical CND Incident Reporter Certification (CEH, GCIH, GCIA, GNFA).
  • DoDI M M IAT Level I Compliant Certification (Network + CE, A+ CE, CCNA + Security, SSCP).
