Position Overview

Cyber Security Threat Response Specialist

We are in search of a skilled Cyber Security Threat Response Specialist to assist our client in identifying, addressing, mitigating, and documenting cyber threats impacting their network systems.

Security Clearance Requirements

All applicants must be U.S. Citizens and hold an Active Top Secret clearance with the capability to obtain TS/SCI. Candidates should also be eligible for DHS suitability prior to commencing employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the identification, addressing, mitigation, and documentation of cyber threats affecting client networks.
  • Stay informed about current vulnerabilities, response protocols, and mitigation strategies utilized in cyber security operations.
  • Generate reports and presentations to accurately depict the existing threat landscape and associated risks.
  • Analyze correlated information sources for comprehensive insights.
  • Assist the client in proactively investigating cyber activities targeting their information and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the training department to educate staff on cyber threats.
  • Engage with other governmental cyber threat analysis organizations, including intra-agency and inter-agency Cyber Threat Working Groups.
  • Maintain proficiency in creating visualization charts, link analysis diagrams, and executing database queries.
  • Investigate and report on cyber threats while aiding in the detection, identification, monitoring, and analysis of computer network intrusions.
  • Ensure compliance with required Information Assurance training standards.
Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of six (6) years of applicable experience
    • Professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • A Master's degree in a related discipline may substitute for four (4) years of experience.

Required Skills

  • Hands-on experience in identifying, addressing, mitigating, and/or documenting cyber threats impacting client networks, including but not limited to:
    • Experience in computer intrusion analysis and incident response,
    • Computer network surveillance and monitoring,
    • Knowledge of network protocols, devices, various operating systems, and secure architectures,
    • Experience in computer evidence collection, forensic analysis, and data recovery,
    • Proficiency in computer network forensics,
    • System log analysis expertise,
    • Familiarity with current cyber threats and the tactics, techniques, and procedures used to breach networks,
    • Experience with network intrusion detection and response operations (Protect, Defend, Respond and Sustain methodology),
    • Proficiency in MS Office Applications, and
    • Ability to collaborate effectively across agencies and locations.

Desired Skills

  • Experience supporting DHS, Federal Civil, Intelligence, and/or DoD clients.
  • Malware reverse engineering skills.
  • Scripting knowledge (Python, Perl, etc.).
  • Experience in process development and implementation.
  • Exceptional writing abilities.
  • Prior experience with data visualization tools such as Analyst Notebook is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Splunk is advantageous.

  • Technical CND Incident Reporter Certification (CEH, GCIH, GCIA, GNFA)
  • DoDI M M IAT Level I Compliant Certification (Network + CE, A+ CE, CCNA + Security, SSCP)
