Position Overview:

The Automotive Repair Specialist is responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on vehicles as directed by management, adhering to all established protocols and standards. This role may also involve conducting pre-delivery inspections on new vehicles to guarantee optimal functionality for customers. The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or GED, complemented by some post-secondary automotive education, along with 3-5 years of experience in a dealership or large facility setting. Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is essential. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record, a proven technical performance history, and the physical capability to perform the required tasks are mandatory. The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced team environment, exhibiting a positive demeanor, professional appearance, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality repair work in line with dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Inspect all fluids and maintenance-related components, topping off or replacing as necessary.
  • Conduct routine service inspections and execute standard maintenance tasks.
  • Test drive vehicles to confirm the quality of repairs.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness during service and repair operations.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed in compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Adhere to all shop policies, procedures, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining shop appearance and safety standards, contributing to efficient operations through tasks such as inventory management.
  • Participate in all staff meetings, training sessions, and educational opportunities as required.
  • Conduct system diagnostics and comprehensive automotive troubleshooting.
  • Keep the shop area organized and tidy.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding service status and estimated completion times to keep customers informed.
  • Continuously update technical knowledge and skills through formal training to stay current with evolving automotive technologies.
  • Exhibit behaviors that align with the Company's Values in all interactions with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience preferred, with dealership experience being advantageous.
  • Experience in an automotive dealership, particularly with Jeep, Chrysler, or Dodge, is a plus.
  • Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  • ASE certification or specialized certifications in areas such as brakes, electrical/electronic systems, or engine performance preferred.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for professional interactions with customers, vendors, and team members.
  • Safety-conscious and customer service-oriented.
  • Physical capability to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as required.
  • Professional appearance and work ethic.
  • Self-motivated with strong work habits.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
