Key Responsibilities
- Assist service technicians in identifying parts required for ongoing repairs
- Sell automotive parts to customers
- Retrieve purchased parts from inventory
- Handle incoming calls, providing pricing information and other necessary details
- Keep the service department informed about the status of special-order parts
- May be required to deliver or collect parts from external suppliers as needed
- Adhere to all shop policies, procedures, safety, and environmental regulations
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a dealership or large facility setting.
Knowledge of General Motors automotive products is preferred and prioritized.
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
The candidate must be a reliable team player with a strong work ethic.
Availability to work on Saturdays is required.
Exceptional customer service skills are essential.
Professional appearance and demeanor are expected.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
Basic computer and internet proficiency is necessary.
Physical Requirements
The role involves bending, kneeling, squatting, standing, and lifting heavy items (over 50 pounds) as required.
Work involves 50% standing or walking and 50% sitting throughout the day.
