As a vital member of the culinary team, the Assistant Culinary Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful and efficient operation of the kitchen. Working closely with the Culinary Manager, the Assistant Culinary Manager will assist in executing the restaurant's menu while ensuring the highest quality of food preparation. This position requires a strong focus on maintaining budgeted food costs through effective inventory management and raw material tracking. Candidates must demonstrate excellent availability, professional demeanor, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to make independent decisions.
**Compensation**
This role offers an hourly wage ranging from $24 to $27.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Drive the kitchen's profitability by developing and implementing a unique menu that sets industry standards.
- Monitor and manage food costs by keeping track of inventory and supplies.
- Ensure all culinary creations meet the restaurant's high standards for quality and presentation.
- Assist with food preparation and cooking during peak service times, ensuring adequate stock levels at all stations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including prep areas and storage facilities.
- Adhere to weekly cleaning protocols and follow standard operating procedures for food safety.
- Support the Culinary Manager with kitchen record-keeping and administrative tasks, including inventory management and ordering supplies.
- Provide ongoing training and mentorship to kitchen staff to uphold workplace expectations.
- Collaborate with the Culinary Manager to maintain quality, consistency, and adherence to the restaurant's culinary vision.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Culinary Manager.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within an upscale dining environment, with prior supervisory responsibilities.
- Possession of a state-issued Health Certificate and required immunizations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary methods.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse individuals.
- Proven ability to train and develop staff to enhance job performance.
- Capable of delegating tasks effectively to achieve desired outcomes.
- Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and make sound decisions.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated while thriving in a collaborative team setting.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Must hold Serve Safe certification.
- Proficient in using computer software, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
