The salary range for this position reflects a national market range and encompasses a variety of compensation levels for this role across the country. The actual salary will be influenced by factors such as the complexity of the role, the candidate's qualifications, and other employment conditions. What Is the Opportunity?

In this role, you will oversee the creation, submission, negotiation, and approval of rate, rule, and form filings in alignment with business goals and regulatory standards. You will take the lead on complex filings and provide guidance to the Regulatory team. Your expertise will support business units on filing-related matters and ensure collaboration with Legal, Government Affairs, and other departments throughout the filing process. You may also assist in managing regulatory initiatives and implementing strategies to ensure compliance following Market Conduct Exams, Interrogatories, Data Calls, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and prepare rule, rate, and form filings to meet business objectives and secure regulatory approval, including guiding business units in material preparation. Facilitate communication and negotiation with state insurance departments to ensure timely product approvals. Utilize problem-solving skills to assist business unit personnel in addressing regulatory challenges and ensure prompt implementation of filings. Analyze state insurance department statutes, regulations, and bulletins to ascertain filing requirements and stay updated on industry changes. Cultivate strong relationships with state insurance department staff and collaborate with Legal, Government Affairs, and Compliance teams to address sensitive regulatory matters. Support a range of inquiries, including market conduct exams, regulatory audits, data calls, and consumer complaint management. Participate in MCAS and conduct research on DOI inquiries and regulatory criticisms. Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as assigned by senior management.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues within the insurance sector. Familiarity with business line products and company procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to negotiate effectively. Strong analytical and research capabilities. Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills. Proficiency in various computer applications (e.g., Email, Microsoft Word). Comprehensive understanding of general regulatory requirements related to commercial insurance. Expertise in state regulations pertinent to assigned states. Creative problem-solving abilities to identify and address complex filing issues. Commitment to producing high-quality, accurate, and thorough work products. Strong ability to present complex regulatory matters clearly and concisely. Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels. Self-management skills, including accountability for decisions and actions. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently. Establish credibility and reliability within and outside the organization.
