Job Summary

The University of Utah is seeking a skilled Computer Support Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Help Desk, you will provide technical support for all event requests, including virtual meetings, audio/visual systems, and computer hardware.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for computers and other hardware associated with the audio/visual systems.
  • Assist the help desk in core support duties, including imaging and setting up computers, troubleshooting desktops and laptops.
  • Update the ticket system with notes from ticket submission through to ticket resolution.
  • Provide technical and other support for projects led by other departmental staff.
  • Interface with vendors for audio/visual repairs, new purchases, and equipment replacement.
  • Share important support, vendor, and technical information with the CATG helpdesk and document the information in the knowledge base.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a computer-related field and two years of experience or equivalency required.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, human relations, and effective communication skills are required.
Working Conditions

The general climate-controlled office environment, low noise level, and prolonged sitting and repetitive motion due to extended computer use.
