Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Support Specialist to join our team at the University of Utah. As a key member of our IT support team, you will provide exceptional technical support to faculty, staff, and students, ensuring seamless access to technology and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site technical support in multiple buildings, troubleshooting and resolving AV problems in real-time.
  • Effectively utilize our ITSM ticketing system, providing clear and accurate documentation, and monitoring and responding to incoming requests for support.
  • Provide computer support by troubleshooting and correcting problems on all end-user computing equipment issued by the school.
  • Install and upgrade computer hardware and software applications.
  • Provide clear and accurate documentation of service/resolution efforts and inventory information.
Requirements
  • Requires an associate degree in a related area or equivalency, and 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A+ Certified
  • Audio Visual (AV) experience in conference rooms, classrooms, and event spaces
  • Knowledge of University of Utah systems
  • Direct Customer Service Experience with an emphasis on phone support and an expectation of superior in-person support
