Position Summary
We are looking for a meticulous and skilled IT Support Specialist to enhance our IT department. The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering technical assistance, diagnosing hardware and software challenges, and ensuring the smooth operation of desktop systems throughout the organization. This role is vital in maintaining an efficient desktop environment, thereby supporting a productive workplace for all staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, configure, and oversee desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Identify and resolve technical problems related to desktop systems, applications, and network connections.
- Work closely with end-users to provide prompt and effective technical support.
- Conduct regular maintenance tasks, including system updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Manage hardware and software inventory to ensure precise recordkeeping.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement and uphold IT policies and procedures.
- Offer training and support to end-users on desktop-related issues.
- Stay updated on emerging desktop technologies and suggest enhancements.
- Document technical processes, procedures, and solutions to issues.
- Basic understanding of AV systems/solutions setup in meeting rooms.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a Desktop Technician or in a comparable role.
- Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems in a mixed environment (Windows & macOS) and office productivity tools.
- Practical experience with desktop hardware components and troubleshooting methods.
- Understanding of networking principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to prioritize and manage tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are advantageous.
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
