Position Overview

The role of the Financial Health Strategy Manager is pivotal in spearheading initiatives that align with U.S. Bank's objectives for social impact, diversity, equity, and inclusion. This position will assess, propose, and execute strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing financial wellness and addressing long-standing disparities in economic outcomes.

Collaboration across the U.S. Bank enterprise is essential, as this role will work closely with senior leadership to implement initiatives that bolster our reputation and strategic growth as the "Most Trusted Choice".

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development and Governance:

  • Assist in formulating the vision and strategy for financial inclusion and wellbeing at U.S. Bank.
  • Foster strong connections with industry partners, governmental bodies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to stay informed about the evolving landscape and adapt U.S. Bank's strategy accordingly.
  • Collect, maintain, and analyze internal metrics related to financial health, implementing processes to monitor U.S. Bank's progress in financial inclusion and wellness.
  • Benchmark performance against industry peers and provide recommendations for enhancing the company's standing in financial health assessments.
  • Generate insights into the financial health needs of consumers and communities, enabling U.S. Bank to innovate and improve solutions in collaboration with customer experience teams.
  • Work with risk management and compliance teams to identify potential financial health risks.
  • Ensure effective governance and execution of financial health programs throughout the organization, providing leadership to align strategies with U.S. Bank's financial inclusion and wellness objectives.
Initiative Management:
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans across various departments and business lines.
  • Design and oversee programs that complement existing business efforts, focusing on enhancing the financial health of employees, communities, and clients, including philanthropy and corporate partnerships.
  • Influence product development priorities to align with the vision, introducing new solutions to support the financial health of employees, communities, and clients.
Stakeholder Engagement and Brand Management:
  • Effectively communicate U.S. Bank's financial health strategy to stakeholders, enhancing the brand and reputation of the organization.
  • Engage with a variety of stakeholders, including executives, regulators, investors, and industry groups, representing U.S. Bank at industry events to strengthen our brand and thought leadership in financial health.
  • Analyze stakeholder inquiries and trends to identify emerging opportunities, coordinating responses and communications on key issues across business lines.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to promote U.S. Bank's financial health initiatives.
  • Prepare presentation materials and talking points for engagement with stakeholders and for reporting purposes.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Extensive knowledge and experience in financial inclusion or financial health.
- Background in financial institutions or the banking sector.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent professional experience.
- Typically, 10 or more years of relevant experience, including three or more years in a management role.
- Strong leadership and strategic management capabilities.
- In-depth understanding of the current business and regulatory environment, with the ability to anticipate changes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of diplomacy and interpersonal skills.
