Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Trainer to join our team at Seaboard. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for training and assisting hourly employees in developing the skills necessary to perform their assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Development: Provide hands-on training to production employees on knife techniques, including sharpening and maintenance of cutting tools.
  • Safety Awareness: Implement and maintain an effective safety awareness program, including regular departmental safety meetings and written feedback on injuries or accidents.
  • Production Coordination: Directly train and coordinate the activities of production employees consistent with company policy.
  • Process Improvement: Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments, and suggest changes in working conditions and equipment to increase efficiency.
  • Employee Evaluation: Evaluate employee performance and techniques with cutting tools, and provide feedback and retraining as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Two years of experience working with adults and/or in a production environment, with experience in a food industry preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with maintenance, production, and management personnel.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents in English, and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations, and to understand advanced statistics and statistical analysis for process control.
Working Conditions

The Production Trainer will work in a fast-paced production environment, with frequent exposure to cold/hot and/or humid conditions, and occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, cold/hot temperature, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud, and the work environment includes climate extremes found in all areas of plant operations.
