Job Title: Registered Dental Hygienist

Job Summary:

The Registered Dental Hygienist is a key member of our dental team, responsible for providing high-quality oral health care to our patients. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will work under the general supervision of a dentist to provide preventive and therapeutic dental services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide independent patient care and dental services, assessing dental conditions and needs using approved patient screening procedures.
  • Integrate dental preventative and hygiene services with other healthcare professionals involved in patient care management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
  • Assist with emergency measures during treatments.
  • Organize and perform preventative oral health presentations at on-site and off-site locations.
  • Travel to meet operational needs, including satellite clinic locations and local schools.
  • Perform tasks to achieve organizational and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Assist in training dental assistants and other dental staff.
  • Develop and implement HHC and community dental hygiene outreach and education programs.
  • Attend dental hygiene continuing education to ensure continued learning and provide information to department leaders.
  • Treat required number of encounters and users as designated.
  • Assist with various clinical and administrative functions as directed by leadership.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of dental hygiene.
  • Current license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the state of Kansas, with ongoing continuing education hours to maintain active licensure.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, within 30 days of hire.
  • ECP-II certification, within 90 days of hire.
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).

Physical and Mental Demands:

The Registered Dental Hygienist must be able to perform the essential job functions, either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation. The functions listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.

  • Average hearing: The ability to hear average conversations and respond accordingly.

  • Finger dexterity: The ability to use fingers to make small movements, such as typing, picking up objects, and pinching fingers together.
  • Average visual abilities: The ability to focus on items clearly, including close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Working conditions: The ability to work in a well-lit, climate-controlled environment with occasional high noise levels and potential exposure to infectious diseases.
  • Physical strength: The ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Mathematical ability: The ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
