Job Summary:

The Integrated Registered Dental Hygienist plays a crucial role in providing integrated dental preventative and hygiene services to patients, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide independent patient care and dental services, assessing dental conditions and needs using approved patient screening procedures.
  • Integrate dental preventative and hygiene services with other healthcare professionals involved in patient care management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
  • Assist with emergency measures during treatments and perform preventative oral health presentations at various locations.
  • Travel to meet operational needs, including satellite clinic locations and local schools.
  • Perform tasks to achieve organizational and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Assist in training dental assistants and other dental staff.
  • Contribute to the development of Hunter Health Clinic's dental hygiene outreach and education programs.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of dental hygiene.
  • Current license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the state of Kansas, with ongoing continuing education to maintain active licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • ECP-III certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred.
  • Experience in school outreach is a plus.
Physical and Mental Demands:

The Integrated Registered Dental Hygienist must be able to perform the essential job functions, either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation. The physical and mental demands of the job include:

  • Talking clearly and effectively.
  • Average hearing and vision abilities.
  • Repetitive motion, finger dexterity, and average visual abilities.
  • Working in a well-lit, climate-controlled environment with occasional high noise levels and potential exposure to infectious diseases.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
