Job Title: Integrated Registered Dental Hygienist

Reports to: Dental Operations Manager

Department: Dental Operations

FLSA Class: Exempt

Summary:

The Integrated Registered Dental Hygienist plays a vital role in providing integrated dental preventative and hygiene services to patients. This position requires collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides independent patient care and dental services, assessing dental condition and needs using approved patient screening procedures.
  • Integrates dental preventative and hygiene services with other healthcare professionals involved in patient care management.
  • Maintains clinical records in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assists with emergency measures for adverse developments during treatments.
  • Organizes and performs preventative oral health presentations at on-site and off-site locations as assigned.
  • Travels when necessary to meet operational needs, including satellite clinic locations and local schools.
  • Performs tasks to achieve organizational and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Assists in training dental assistants and other dental staff.
  • Assists with the development of HHC and community dental hygiene outreach and education programs.
  • Attends dental hygiene continuing education to ensure continued learning and provides information to department leaders.
  • Treats required number of encounters and users as designated.
  • Assists with various clinical and administrative functions as directed by leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of dental hygiene is required.
  • Current license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the state of Kansas, while obtaining continuing education hours to maintain active licensure.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required, within 30 days of hire.
  • ECP-III is required, within 90 days of hire.
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
  • Experience in school outreach preferred.

Physical and Mental Demands of the Job:

The ability to speak clearly and effectively, hear average conversations, and respond accordingly. The ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle, feel, and reach. Finger dexterity to use fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up objects, and pinching fingers together. Average visual abilities to focus on items clearly, including close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Working conditions in a well-lit, climate-controlled environment with occasional high noise levels and potential exposure to infectious diseases. Physical strength to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Mathematical ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
