Role Overview:

The Research Compliance Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the research community by ensuring adherence to ethical standards and regulatory requirements. This part-time position, reporting to the Director of Research Integrity and Engagement, will focus on the administration of compliance processes related to research involving human subjects, animal welfare, and biohazards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments of submissions to compliance committees, ensuring completeness and providing feedback on compliance areas.
  • Facilitate administrative processes related to research funding and compliance.
  • Assist in the development and execution of policies that uphold research integrity.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and communicate effectively with faculty and staff regarding compliance requirements.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with campus departments to support research proposal administration.
  • Support the Director in creating educational resources and programming related to research compliance.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned to enhance the office's operations.

Candidate Profile:

They will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize effectively, and a flexible approach to problem-solving within regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications, with strong data management skills.
  • Familiarity with eRA tools and research compliance systems.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a higher education setting, collaborating with diverse faculty and staff on compliance matters.
  • Alignment with the institution's mission and values.
