Job Summary

As a Classroom Support Specialist at San Luis Obispo Classical Academy, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our early childhood programs. In partnership with our teaching staff, you will provide a safe and enriching environment for our students, supporting their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers with daily tasks, including check-in and pick-up procedures, in-class student support, and class activities.
  • Recess Supervision: Supervise students during recess, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Non-Classroom Support: Attend planning sessions, provide feedback to parents and guardians, and collaborate with teaching specialists on student progress and challenges.
  • Substitute Teaching: Assume the role of substitute teacher during the absence of teaching staff, adhering to all Administrative Directives and SLOCA Policies.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience working with children, preferably in a classroom setting.
  • 2+ years of direct involvement in student care and discipline.
  • CPR Certification and ability to obtain ECE credits within the first year of employment.
  • Preferred: Technology skills, including Mac literacy and knowledge of Word, Excel, and Google.
