Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Education Specialist to join our team at the Associated Students, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child development and education, with a passion for creating a safe and engaging learning environment for young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of a quality childcare program, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Supervise and guide the experience of children, student staff, and volunteers, promoting a positive and cooperative atmosphere.
  • Participate in planning and implementing curriculum, assessing children's development, and maintaining a well-organized classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, responding to their concerns and needs, and facilitating parent-teacher conferences.
  • Develop and execute assessments of programs and services, setting and implementing goals, and evaluating outcomes.
  • Support diversity and inclusion initiatives, promoting practices that eliminate bias and foster a culture of respect and understanding.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 12 semester units in early childhood education or development preferred.
  • California Child Development permit obtained within the first 60 days of hire.
  • Current American Red Cross Certification in Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid, and AED.
  • 15 hours of Health and Safety Training.
  • Minimum one year experience working with preschool-aged children or infants and toddlers in a classroom setting.
