About the Role:

The Behavior Technician will work closely with children and adults with special needs, collaborating with school professionals and other behavioral specialists to achieve learning and behavioral goals. This role involves implementing behavior management techniques, providing crisis intervention, and reviewing and implementing behavior intervention plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement behavior management techniques to prevent, intervene, and provide consequences
  • Provide crisis intervention and support students in developing independent daily living skills
  • Review and implement behavior intervention plans and assist in facilitating academic instruction
  • Document sessions and collect behavioral and academic data accurately and efficiently
  • Assist students in developing self-care activities and support students across various environments

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Two years of pediatric experience preferred
  • Compliance with professional standards of practice and participation in Amergis' Competency program
  • Current CPR and TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, coworkers, and clients
  • Computer proficiency and understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
