Director of Operations and Strategy

Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations and Strategy to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Center for Maternal Health Equity.
About the Center for Maternal Health EquityThe Center for Maternal Health Equity is dedicated to pursuing equity in maternal health by reducing maternal morbidity and mortality locally, nationally, and globally. We achieve this through building and strengthening community-academic partnerships, developing a competitive translational research program, and offering interdisciplinary and professional training.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations & Strategy who will be responsible for streamlining and aligning internal functions while executing the Center's mission to reduce maternal health disparities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in operations and strategy development, research project management, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive program management support, overseeing multiple programs, contracts, and budgets simultaneously.
- Lead and manage the execution of complex research and development programs, ensuring alignment with the Center's mission and strategic goals.
- Manage and integrate technology, developing and maintaining a system for organizing and storing projects and documents.
- Collaborate with the Center's Director on strategic planning, budget development, resource management, and ongoing monitoring.
- Develop and implement robust program plans and financial tools that facilitate accurate oversight, resource allocation, and adherence to contractual requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in operations and strategy development.
- Proven experience in research project management, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Prior experience in community engagement, advocacy, and nonprofit management, with a focus on health equity.
