We are looking to hire several Level 1 Cooks who are skilled in the precise and efficient preparation, portioning, cooking, and presentation of a wide range of hot and cold food items for our dining facilities and catering events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food items, accommodating special dietary needs, utilizing various kitchen equipment for mixing, measuring, peeling, cutting, and trimming.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared according to the specifications outlined in production sheets and by dining service management.
  • Implement safety and sanitation practices as directed by health regulations and dining service management, maintaining a clean and sanitized work area.
  • Comply with food quality standards set by the College regarding timeliness, taste, and presentation.
  • Accurately complete production sheets in a timely manner to facilitate proper ordering and inventory management.
  • Inspect kitchen equipment for functionality and report any repair needs.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • One year of relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in operating standard industrial kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes independently.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and other departments, demonstrating professionalism and respect.
  • Commitment to safety regulations and maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Ability to meet attendance expectations, including punctuality.
  • Capability to lift up to 40 lbs.
