About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team at LewisGale Medical Center. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, cooking, and serving of all foods for patients, cafeteria, and doctors dining room, as well as catering services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement menus, recipes, and presentation styles that meet the dietary needs of our patients and staff.
  • Directly supervise and train culinary staff to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
  • Manage food inventory, ordering, and storage to minimize waste and optimize resources.
  • Collaborate with the Nutritional Services Director to develop and implement nutrition programs and services.
Requirements
  • Culinary certification preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associates/Technical degree from a culinary institute required.
  • One year of experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Three to five years' experience in food service management preferred.
  • Serve Safe certification required within 60 days of hire.
