The Vascular Solutions Consultant plays a crucial role in supporting regional sales teams by focusing on market growth, procedural assistance, troubleshooting, education, and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Market Expansion
- Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager and team to devise and execute strategies aimed at enhancing market presence and elevating service quality.
- Establish effective communication channels with the Regional Sales Manager and Territory Managers to ensure successful implementation of strategies and achievement of sales targets.
- Build and nurture relationships with hospital staff to broaden connections across departments, identify key decision-makers, and facilitate future sales opportunities.
- Engage with current and prospective clients to assess their clinical requirements and demonstrate how Penumbra's offerings can meet their objectives.
Education and Training
- Provide comprehensive education to existing and potential clients regarding the advantages and appropriate clinical applications of Penumbra products through presentations and demonstrations.
- Keep clients informed about the latest advancements in products, therapies, and industry trends.
- Assist in professional development initiatives sponsored by Penumbra, including educational meetings and symposiums.
- Support the onboarding and training of new team members, including Territory Managers and Clinical Specialists.
- Contribute to the creation of Continuing Education Programs.
Customer Support
- Act as the primary resource for clinical support in procedural case coverage, basic troubleshooting, and follow-up for Penumbra products.
- Document and monitor all product-related incidents, adhering to company protocols and collaborating with relevant personnel to resolve issues.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns by developing innovative solutions in partnership with senior management, sales, and marketing teams.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with potential customers, converting them into loyal Penumbra clients.
- Coordinate product availability, delivery schedules, and inventory management to secure and renew existing orders.
- Maintain transparent communication with current and prospective clients regarding programs, promotions, and pricing trends.
- Foster relationships with healthcare professionals, lab personnel, and procurement staff.
- Comply with the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant regulations, ensuring adherence across the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, neuroscience, biology, or a related field, complemented by additional training and certification in radiology or neuro-interventional technology, along with 3+ years of experience in a clinical or medical device environment.
- Background in sales or marketing is preferred.
- Demonstrated clinical, technical, and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and competitive atmosphere.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Working Environment
This role involves a mix of office, laboratory, and cleanroom settings, with business travel exceeding 50%. On-call availability may be required, and the role necessitates the ability to wear lead aprons for extended periods in clinical environments.
