Job Title: Head, Business Excellence

As a key member of the Scientific Operations team, the Head, Business Excellence will be responsible for leading the business operations function. This includes overseeing the execution of purchase order management, vendor onboarding, and third-party risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of 4 direct reports with global locations, executing purchase order management and vendor onboarding.
  • Prepare budget models, monitor budget execution, and prepare regular and special-purpose reports.
  • Manage overall headcount reporting and planning processes.
  • Lead capital expense and low-value asset planning and execution.
  • Support strategic and process excellence projects with financial intelligence and impact assessments.
  • Ensure high-quality and efficient support for procurement, animal import/export, ticketing, and troubleshooting.
  • Partner with other operations teams to optimize processes and data quality.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, engineering, or a technical area.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP or IPMA) is considered a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in the medical, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries in an operational role.
  • Knowledge of operational excellence and formal training in Lean and/or Six Sigma.
  • Experience in project management methodology and tools.
  • Deep knowledge of budget planning and forecasting methodologies.
  • Experience in leading diverse initiatives and working in a matrixed organization.

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $151,200 and $226,800 per year. The total compensation package may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
