The Mortgage Processing Specialist undertakes a range of administrative and technical responsibilities; primary tasks involve managing the workflow of mortgage applications, culminating in the preparation of closing documents.

  • Requests and evaluates all necessary documentation, including income verification, employment verification, credit reports, appraisals, surveys, and title commitments.
  • Engages with borrowers and various sources to gather essential documentation.
  • Serves as a communication bridge between origination personnel, underwriters, external escrow, title companies, and clients.
  • Verifies the accuracy of information submitted by loan applicants, ensuring compliance with established underwriting standards and regulations.
  • Collaborates with the processing team to facilitate the progression of files through the system.
  • Reviews loan files to confirm the inclusion of all required documents, signatures, dates, and other critical information.
  • Establishes and nurtures relationships with clients to maintain a steady flow of mortgage applications.

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of experience in loan processing.
  • High School diploma or GED.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Word; basic keyboarding and calculator skills; capable of performing simple mathematical calculations and following written instructions.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations for work-related tasks and meetings as necessary.
  • Occasional work beyond 40 hours per week may be required to fulfill essential job functions.
  • Ability to travel regularly between locations.
  • Physical lifting in an office environment may be necessary, up to 30 lbs.
