The Mortgage Financial Specialist role involves overseeing the client journey throughout the loan process for both first and second residential mortgages. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the mortgage sector, demonstrating up-to-date knowledge of mortgage offerings, operational systems, necessary documentation, and the overall progression of a mortgage loan file. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing mortgage loan applications from initiation to completion - including file creation, application entry, credit history retrieval, preparation for submission, underwriting submission, condition retrieval, and closing preparation.
• Collaborating closely with the Retail Financial Specialist and clients to gather financial data for evaluating the customer's financial standing and eligibility.
• Thoroughly reviewing and verifying each file for errors and discrepancies, while structuring the file to comply with lending regulations.
• Establishing accurate customer expectations and providing timely updates to ensure a satisfactory customer experience.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• One to three years of pertinent experience in residential mortgage origination.
• Fundamental understanding of real estate legislation.
• Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing & Registry (NMLS) is required.
• Preferred experience includes roles as a Loan Office Assistant or in Loan Origination.

Skills:

• Familiarity with first and second mortgage regulations and general real estate law; exceptional communication abilities and a strong sales focus.
• Capability to manage time effectively while working independently and collaboratively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Word; basic typing and calculator skills; must be able to compute income and follow written instructions.
• Occasional extended hours may be necessary to fulfill essential job functions.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs in an office environment.
